Northside waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the West Blocton Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Caroline Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Brayden Billings, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Northside's record now sits at 18-11-1. As for West Blocton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

Northside will take on Jackson in a tournament on Friday. As for West Blocton, they will challenge Homewood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
