Basketball Recap: Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Irvin Rockets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 26-25 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Adrianna Torres was Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. Nidia Fierro held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Irvin, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Austin the next time they take the court. Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy will head out to face Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Irvin will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
