Basketball Game Preview: North Stokes Vikings vs. Mount Airy Granite Bears

The North Stokes Vikings will challenge the Mount Airy Granite Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Stokes is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, North Stokes came up short against Alleghany and fell 49-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vikings came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Trojans are ranked 416th).

Mount Airy hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 25-14 win over Alleghany on Tuesday.

Mount Airy's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10. As for North Stokes, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

North Stokes beat Mount Airy 44-37 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does North Stokes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mount Airy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
