Baseball Recap: Oakcrest Comes Up Short

Oakcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mainland Regional Mustangs. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Mainland Regional, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-1 record this season.

Oakcrest will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Middle Township at 4:00 p.m. As for Mainland Regional, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Delsea on the 10th.
