Basketball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

If Edison was riding high fresh off their 71-38 takedown of Beallsville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Edison Wildcats took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conotton Valley Rockets on Friday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rockets earlier this season, when they won 59-57.

Edison has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Conotton Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Edison will face off against Coshocton at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd. One thing working in Coshocton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches. As for Conotton Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-36 victory against Sandy Valley on the 15th.
