After a string of three wins, Deerfield's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Trier Trevians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15.

Abigail Garcia paced Deerfield's offense, picking up five kills. Garcia got some help from Rosemary Smrecek and her five assists. Garcia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Deerfield now has a losing record of 8-9. As for New Trier, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Deerfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Maine South on the 18th. As for New Trier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Glenbrook South on the 18th.
