Softball Recap: North Decatur Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

North Decatur's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 27-9 margin over the Waldron Mohawks. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

North Decatur got a massive performance out of Kendall Hostkoetter, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Hostkoetter has posted since back in May of 2024. Carmen Thackery was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs.

North Decatur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .783. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Decatur's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Waldron, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Decatur will host Rising Sun at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Shiners have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Waldron, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Triton Central at 12:00 p.m.
