Armwood hasn't had much luck against Plant City recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Armwood Hawks will square off against the Plant City Raiders at 10:00 a.m. Armwood has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Armwood is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Robinson, falling 14-4.

Armwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justine Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Plant City put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 21-2 margin over Brandon. The game marked the Raiders' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Kayleigh Gibbs made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gibbs was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Plant City got a massive performance out of Isabelle Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was Wright's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Burden, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Plant City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Plant City's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Armwood, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Armwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .611. However, it's not like Plant City struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Armwood might still be hurting after the 24-0 loss they got from Plant City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Armwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
