Baseball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Manchester Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Manchester, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Smithville will head out on the road to face off against Mapleton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Manchester, they will challenge Mogadore at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
