Soccer Game Preview: Jonesport-Beals vs. Schenck

The Jonesport-Beals Royals will head out on the road to challenge the Schenck Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jonesport-Beals will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Thursday, then bounced right back against Machias on Tuesday. The Royals never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Schenck's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged out Narraguagus 1-0. The victory was some much needed relief for Schenck as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Jonesport-Beals' record is now 4-7-1. As for Schenck, their record now sits at 3-9.

Jonesport-Beals came out on top in a nail-biter against Schenck in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
