Softball Recap: Dunbar Tigers vs. Estero Wildcats

YOZELINE GARIUS was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-1 with a home run. Another player making a difference was ZIYA CHAMBERS, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

On Estero's side, Annika Jarvi looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Estero got a massive performance out of Avery Sanchez, who went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Givens, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Estero, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

As for Estero, they will head out on the road to challenge East Lee County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams will come into the game having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
