Baseball Recap: St. John Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Meadowbrook Academy

St. John Lutheran won the last time they faced Meadowbrook Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the St. John Lutheran Saints' way against the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs as the St. John Lutheran Saints made off with a 23-5 win. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Bryce Disimile was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. John Lutheran is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Disimile was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Luis Roman was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. St. John Lutheran is undefeated when Roman posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Justin Wallace, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

St. John Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadowbrook Academy only posted an OBP of .393.

St. John Lutheran's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

St. John Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Branford on the 28th. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they will challenge Peniel Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
