Softball Recap: Saratoga's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Saratoga won the last time they faced MacDonald and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Condor with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

Saira Ramakrishnan was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Saratoga got a massive performance out of Sydney Riera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Dahlia Murthy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Saratoga always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacDonald only posted an OBP of .300.

The win (which was Saratoga's sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for MacDonald, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saratoga will host Homestead at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for MacDonald, they will welcome Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
