Football Recap: Southeast Lancers vs. St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers
Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers 49-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 53-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
A big part of St. Mary's-Colgan's win came down to the chemistry between Carston Simmons and his top target Klayton Adamson. Simmons threw for 116 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes while Adamson picked up 63 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they will square off against Horton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's-Colgan will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
