Baseball Recap: Ansonia Comes Up Short

Ansonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Ansonia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cainan Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Ansonia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Lehman Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Ansonia is taking a road trip to square off against National Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lehman Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Franklin Monroe at 5:00 p.m. The Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.64 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
