Basketball Game Preview: Redondo Union Sea Hawks vs. Mira Costa Mustangs

Redondo Union is on a 18-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Mira Costa is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redondo Union Sea Hawks will welcome the Mira Costa Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Redondo Union against Palos Verdes as the team secured an 83-46 win. Given the Sea Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Sea Kings are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mira Costa). They claimed a resounding 99-55 victory over Paraclete.

Mira Costa's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Redondo Union, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season.

Redondo Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Mira Costa when the teams last played back in January, winning 76-64. Will Redondo Union repeat their success, or does Mira Costa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
