James Logan has won four straight games at home, while Los Gatos has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The team relied heavily on Abraham Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DJ Mandigal, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos' rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let Gunn get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Matt Ludeman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hudson Schrader was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Mazzaferro, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Los Gatos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gunn only posted an OBP of .269.
Los Gatos is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for James Logan, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
