IDEA Riverview hadn't done well against Progreso recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The IDEA Riverview Rockets pulled ahead with a 35-34 photo finish over the Progreso Red Ants. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Red Ants back in January, they had to take a 38-36 defeat.

IDEA Riverview found their leader in sophomore Oziel Escobedo, who posted 20 points.

Despite the loss, Progreso still got an impressive performance from Julio Resendez, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Resendez is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last 17 games he's played. Mathew Zuniga was another key player, putting up three points along with six assists and six rebounds.

IDEA Riverview's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Progreso, their loss dropped their record down to 13-19.

IDEA Riverview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-48 defeat against IDEA Sports Park on the 10th. As for Progreso, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-27 loss against Lyford on the 10th.
