Baseball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest blew Canton South out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Canton South got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Smith snagged this season.

Northwest's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Canton South, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Looking ahead, Northwest will head out to take on McKinley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canton South, they will welcome Claymont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
