Basketball Recap: Del Sol Takes a Loss

Del Sol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 84-40 loss at the hands of the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.

When it comes to explaining why Del Sol lost, don't look at Jaeden Alexander. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Alexander a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was William Philips, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Del Sol's record now sits at 3-9. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Del Sol and Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will challenge Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
