Softball Recap: Martin Comes Up Short

If Martin was riding high fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Galesburg-Augusta on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clippers fell just short of the Hackett Catholic Prep Fighting Irish by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Martin suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Hackett Catholic Prep, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

While Martin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
