Softball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Liberty couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Calallen Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Considering the last time the Panthers couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 29-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Calallen, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 23 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Liberty nor Calallen have any future games scheduled.
