Basketball Recap: Almeta Crawford Takes a Loss

After flying high against Royal last Tuesday, Almeta Crawford came back down to earth. The Almeta Crawford Chargers took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stafford Spartans on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-56 back in January.

Despite the loss, Almeta Crawford still got an impressive performance from Alvin Mosley, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 boards. Mosley's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Andrew Cunningham also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Almeta Crawford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

Almeta Crawford's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Stafford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 31-0.

Almeta Crawford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-29 win against Harmony School of Innovation Sugar Land on the 4th. As for Stafford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-37 victory against Fort Bend Willowridge on the 7th.
