After flying high against Trigg County on Friday, Henderson County came back down to earth. The Colonels fell just short of the Larue County Hawks by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The Colonels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jackson Parker was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last three contests.

At the plate, Reed Clark was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-6 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tucker Siewert, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one run and one double.

Henderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Larue County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-6.

Coming up, Henderson County is taking a road trip to square off against Warren East at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Larue County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Campbellsville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.4, the Eagles 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
