Volleyball Recap: Rio Mesa Takes a Loss

Rio Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the San Marcos Royals, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Rio Mesa took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14, 25-16.

Rio Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for San Marcos, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Rio Mesa will head out to face off against Pacifica at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Marcos, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Ironwood Ridge on the 3rd.
