Baseball Game Preview: Grants Pass Cavemen vs. Washougal Panthers

The Grants Pass Cavemen will head out to take on the Washougal Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Grants Pass got the win against Ridgefield by a conclusive 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavemen.

Meanwhile, Washougal beat King's Way Christian 6-3 two weeks ago.

Tyler Thompson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Thompson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samuel McKee, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits McKee has posted since back in April of 2024.

Grants Pass' record is now 2-0. As for Washougal, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
