Joseph Washington leads a balanced attack to beat Monsignor Pace

Recap: Dr. Krop Lightning vs. Monsignor Pace Spartans

The Dr. Krop Lightning posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Monsignor Pace 68-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Dr. Krop.

Dr. Krop got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Washington out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Washington hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Emmanuel Ferguson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Monsignor Pace saw an underclassman step up: Easton Gelin dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gelin scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Justin Bridges, who scored 12 points.

Even though they lost, Monsignor Pace smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win got Dr. Krop back to even at 7-7. As for Monsignor Pace, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Dr. Krop will be playing in front of their home fans against American at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. American has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. Monsignor Pace won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McArthur at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
