Baseball Recap: Halfway Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Halfway duked it out with Stoutland on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with a 4-1 win over the Tigers. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Shane Gallivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Keaton Carter was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Halfway and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Stoutland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Halfway will square off against Hermitage at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Stoutland, they will challenge Bourbon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
