Game recap: Our Lady of Good Counsel High School Football Team tops Bishop O'Connell

OLNEY, Md. - Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), 30-0, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Leo Ekwoge touchdown run in the first quarter, the Falcons led 17-0 at the half.

Our Lady of Good Counsel expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. OLGC scored once in the quarter on a Dorian O'Daniel touchdown run.

With the win the Olney school extended its winning streak to eight games. The Falcons defeated the Cadets 41-17 last week.

Our Lady of Good Counsel's most effective player was O'Daniel. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. A member of the Top 25 Outside Linebackers, O'Daniel has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.

Led by Kirk Garner, OLGC came into the game allowing 13.4 points per game. The Knights' zero points were well below their season average of 21.4 per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Falcons came away with a 54-0 victory.

The loss comes after Bishop O'Connell defeated Bishop McNamara 31-14 last week.

Our Lady of Good Counsel (8-1) goes up against Archbishop Carroll in a Washington Catholic game matchup next week, while Bishop O'Connell (5-4) locks horns with Paul VI in a non-conference game.
