Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Doyle

Doyle had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Pine Raiders 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Braden Waits, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tate Albin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Doyle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Doyle's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-16-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Pine, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Doyle will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pine: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
