Volleyball Recap: Aubrey Sanders' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View over Lackawanna Trail

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lackawanna Trail Lions. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-17 in the first set.

Mountain View started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-13.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Sanders, who had five kills, five digs, and three aces. Sanders has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played. Addison Kilmer was another key player, getting ten kills, five digs, three blocks, and three aces.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lackawanna Trail, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Western Wayne on the 13th. As for Lackawanna Trail, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 13th.
