Soccer Game Preview: Barron Collier vs. Charlotte

The Barron Collier Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barron Collier will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a proper cat-fight when Barron Collier took on Estero back in December of 2024. Barron Collier blew past Estero 4-1. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Estero with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Andrew Goduti, Alex Bulai-Tudor, Evan Freshwater, and Logan Tsopanoglou.

Meanwhile, Charlotte's game on Saturday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand Golden Gate a 2-0 shutout. The Fightin' Tarpons found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Yeshua Amador and Tre Servello were both handed yellow cards.

Charlotte used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Golden Gate. Amador played for 70 minutes having averaged 33.3 this season and Brandon Mendia got 80 vs. an average of 47.2. Amador made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Barron Collier, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0.

Barron Collier came out on top in a nail-biter against Charlotte when the teams last played back in November of 2017, sneaking past 1-0. Does Barron Collier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Charlotte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
