Basketball Recap: Jared Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lincoln Park Academy over Pine

After flying high against Master's Academy back in December of 2024, Lincoln Park Academy came back down to earth. The Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Knights on Tuesday. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Lincoln Park Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Young, who posted four points and eight rebounds. Haazim Marjan was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Lincoln Park Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Pine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wade Singleton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Singleton is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Sawicki, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

Lincoln Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pine, they moved to 10-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Lincoln Park Academy will face off against Tradition Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine, they will take on Lake Worth Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
