Soccer Game Preview: Lapeer vs. Flushing

The Lapeer Lightning are taking a road trip to take on the Flushing Raiders on Wednesday. Lapeer will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Lapeer barely beat Holly the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lightning put the hurt on the Bronchos with a sharp 8-1 win on Friday. Considering Lapeer have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Flushing unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. Neither they nor Airport could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. The result kept Flushing happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 25th.

Lapeer's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. Flushing's draw gives them a new season record of 14-2-1.
