Baseball Game Preview: Fairland Owls vs. Jay Bulldogs

The Fairland Owls will square off against the Jay Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Fairland was able to grind out a solid victory over Dewey, taking the game 10-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Owls.

Meanwhile, Jay put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Miami get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly five runs.

Not much got past Bradee Rutherford, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Miami off the board. Those 13 strikeouts gave Rutherford a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Deegan Price, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Whitlock, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Jay's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fairland, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
