Softball Recap: Greenwood Woodmen vs. New Palestine Dragons

Greenwood extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-21 in the process. They lost 19-1 to the New Palestine Dragons. If the Woodmen were looking for revenge after losing 9-8 to the Dragons when the teams met back in May of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kinsley Clark made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for New Palestine, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

On New Palestine's side, Sadey Hughbanks looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Hughbanks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Palestine got a massive performance out of Payton Dye, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Maddie Engle was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Palestine, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Roncalli on the 28th.
