Baseball Game Preview: Oneida Indians vs. McCreary Central Raiders

For the second straight game, Oneida will face off against McCreary Central. The Indians will take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oneida has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 8th.

Oneida might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to McCreary Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

For McCreary Central's part, Riley Newman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. Newman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kolton Summers was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Tristen West was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

The win snapped McCreary Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5 record. As for Oneida, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17.
