Softball Recap: Brecksville-Broadview Heights' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Brecksville-Broadview Heights lost to Hudson back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bees blew past the Explorers 13-6. The result was nothing new for the Bees, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tess Cozza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rowan Weber, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Gabby Rowan also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Hudson, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Brecksville-Broadview Heights will host North Royalton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Bees' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hudson, they will head out to face off against Streetsboro at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rockets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
