The Dilley Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Lytle Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lytle took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dilley, who comes in off a win.
Dilley came out on top against Hondo on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Owls. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Izabella Proctor made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Proctor was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Dilley got a big performance out of Madelyne Proctor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Proctor has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Danica Cano, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lytle came up short against Cotulla on Tuesday and fell 10-5. The Pirates have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Anissa Perez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Lytle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14-2. As for Dilley, their record is now 12-7-1.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dilley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Lytle struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dilley was able to grind out a solid victory over Lytle in their previous meeting back in March, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
