Baseball Game Preview: Beverly Hills Normans vs. Inglewood Sentinels

Beverly Hills has gone a perfect 6-0 against Inglewood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Normans are taking a road trip to square off against the Sentinels at 1:00 p.m. Beverly Hills will be strutting in after a win while Inglewood will be coming in after a loss.

Beverly Hills' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Morningside. The victory continues a trend for the Normans in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won eight in a row.

Beverly Hills got a great performance from Asher Miller as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. The Normans are undefeated when Miller posts ten or more strikeouts, but 4-10-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Gabayan, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Matthew Recupero also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Beverly Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morningside struck out 14 times.

Meanwhile, Inglewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Santa Monica, falling 28-2.

Inglewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Beverly Hills' record is now 7-10-1. As for Inglewood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Beverly Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Inglewood when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Normans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
