Jay County won the last time they faced Woodlan and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Zoe Mclaughlin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hallie Schwieterman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jay County's record is now 9-2. As for Woodlan, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jay County will take on rival South Adams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.8, the Starfires 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Woodlan is set to challenge their familiar foe Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
