Basketball Game Preview: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars vs. Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms

Zumbrota-Mazeppa is 0-3 against Blooming Prairie since December of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms at 5:15 p.m.

Last Friday, Zumbrota-Mazeppa ended up a good deal behind Lourdes and lost 68-50. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Eagles are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Blooming Prairie in a 58-43 victory over Randolph on Friday.

The win got Blooming Prairie back to even at 4-4. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa came up short against Blooming Prairie in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 66-57. Can Zumbrota-Mazeppa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
