Baseball Recap: Santa Ynez Extends Winning Streak to Three

Santa Ynez made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Nordhoff, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Santa Ynez Pirates never let the Nordhoff Rangers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matches in a row.

The result came thanks to Kurran Kays's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elijah Roberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Tate Minus was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Santa Ynez now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Nordhoff, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Santa Ynez will host Cabrillo at 3:30 p.m. on March 11th. As for Nordhoff, they will head out to face off against Bishop Diego at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nordhoff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
