Recap: Providence Prep Rams vs. Grace Academy
The Providence Prep Rams posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Grace Academy 53-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Providence Prep.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Clark Morrison, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Asa Jackson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Grace Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Richmond McIver, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. McIver has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Hoyt, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Providence Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Grace Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Providence Prep will head out on the road to challenge Memorial Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial Christian Academy has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Grace Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
