Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Gets the Win

While Graham-Kapowsin's win against Olympia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bears 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 17, 2024.

Brooklyn Pettit spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on MaKena Rodgers, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Graham-Kapowsin and bumps their season record up to 12-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Olympia, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Graham-Kapowsin will challenge Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Olympia, they will square off against Bonney Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
