Football Recap: Lodi Makes It Five in a Row at Home + How To Watch

Lodi proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 35) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lake Mills L-Cats 16-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since August 23, 2024.

Brody Ripp was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 213 yards and two scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Those 213 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Ripp was just one part of a punishing run game: Lodi was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mills only rushed for 17.

Lodi pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.4 points on average over those games. As for Lake Mills, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Lodi is taking a road trip to take on Darlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Redbirds have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. As for Lake Mills, they will welcome Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the L-Cats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
