Baseball Recap: Bishop Kenny Triumphs

Bishop Kenny's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hayden Willmott looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that he allowed this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Heideman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Colin Ulrich, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Bishop Kenny's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for St. Augustine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Kenny will venture away from home to challenge Nease at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. Augustine, they will head out on the road to face off against Wolfson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
