The Champion Golden Flashes were able to grind out a solid win over the Berkshire Badgers on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. Given Champion's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Berkshire are ranked 447th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Champion hit Berkshire with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carter Chapin, Westin Kuhns, and Dante Deuley.

Champion's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Berkshire, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Champion didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Mineral Ridge on the 24th. As for Berkshire, they have also already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Edgewood on the 20th.
