Baseball Recap: Madison Comprehensive Comes Up Short

Madison Comprehensive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Shelby Whippets, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Madison Comprehensive saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylor Stegall, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Chase Elliott also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Madison Comprehensive's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Shelby, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Comprehensive will venture away from home to challenge Columbian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelby, they will head out to face off against Pleasant at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
