Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. Warren County Eagles
Wilson Prep is 6-0 against Warren County since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wilson Prep Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warren County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wilson Prep has three straight victories, Warren County has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wilson Prep can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 79-35 victory over Weldon at home. Given Wilson Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Weldon is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilson Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ben Ferguson, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Leslie Minter, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Warren County pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 83-63 walloping at the hands of Wilson Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Warren County in their matchups with Wilson Prep: they've now lost six in a row.
Wilson Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Warren County, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.
